For nearly 5 years my biggest fixation has been on the Fable series, specifically the 2nd and 3rd games purely because of the presence of one Reaver. I was 15 being exposed to my first bit of malicious pansexual heroine, and been hooked since. There is something undeniably alluring about an unabashed bastard of a character that I have continued to enjoy, especially when attempting to prescribe some greater meaning to what is essentially a Disney villain.
A man born of unknown origin and name 50 years after the events of Fable 1 in Oakvale would one day become infamous man Reaver. But before then, he was simply a hero born in to an era of dwindling reliance on the heroes.
Much in the same vein of mystery, an unknown event placed the fear of death in to a young Reaver. To grow old, or sick, and pass was the greatest terror which lead to his ultimate sacrifice. The Shadow Court, dark forces of supernatural power of Albion that promised him this future of infallible youth. Yet, immortality came with a price he did not foresee.
